- Electro-Mechanical Applications Engineer
Royston
Working for an expanding company with a diverse hi-tech product range this role will focus on providing internal expertise on performance capability and functional capability of the entire product range. The position has a focus on working closely with the mechanical, software and hardware design teams during product development and product enhancements providing input and analysis. This role would be ideal for a candidate from a Service Engineering background who is looking to reduce travel times. Other responsibilities for the role will include:
- Helping to provide strong internal communications across various teams including; service, quality and production to aid problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with product development, customer quotations, applications testing and analysis and any field issues.
- Support the software and hardware development processes by acting as the end user.
- Support other teams with technical input on new bids and new development projects.
- Work with the production team with the development of new software and hardware standard operation procedures.
- Support the technical author with any additional requirements.
- Assist in software and hardware root cause analysis.
- Provide input into development projects based on lessons learnt in the field.
For this role you will need:
- Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical machinery.
- Experience of IT networking of machinery.
- Understanding of product testing methods (EMC, software validation etc). (Desirable)
- A mechanical engineering understanding is desirable.
- An excellent communicator able to interact with internal teams of engineers and build rapport with customers.
- Possibly from a service engineering background looking for less travel.
This role will require occasional travel within the UK and overseas.
