Working with a small team of engineers and scientists you will take responsibility the design of new products with an optics focus, working on the design of small intricate components and sheet metal electro-mechanical enclosures. The company have recently been acquired by a larger organisation but they have not lost their identity and still have the freedom to create unique designs. This role will work closely with the US office from development to production stage. Responsibilities will include:
- Provide technical expertise and leadership on system design, packaging engineering, and manufacturing techniques.
- Optimise designs for production using DFA/DFM principles.
- Design, document and test stable, laser and optical assemblies.
For this role you will need:
- Experience of working on the design of electro-mechanical products and enclosures.
- An understanding of thermal management or optics would be desirable.
- Strong 3D Cad skills.
- Ideally a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
