Graduate Software Engineer- Embedded

£28-35k

A fantastic opportunity awaits for graduates to work as an Embedded Software Engineer for an internationally renowned company that specialises in creating and outsourcing a range of desirable products.

Graduate Embedded Software Engineers will be creating software for various types of medical technology including diagnostic, surgical, and drug delivery applications. Recent examples of projects undertaken include working on software to enable wireless communication between components of medical devices, safety-critical software for surgical systems and medical software for mobile platforms.

Potential Graduate Embedded Software Engineers will be working on specifying, designing, developing and testing embedded software for complex medical systems and will be exposed to a diverse work environment as they will be working on multiple projects simultaneously. Furthermore, as candidates gain more experience within the company, there will be opportunities to take on further responsibilties so candidates can develop on their skills.

Embedded Graduate Software Engineer skills required:
  • 2:1 or first class degree in Computer Science or a similar equivalent
  • Good knowledge of C or C++
  • Working knowledge of embedded microprocessors or microcontrollers
Desirable skills:
  • Experience programming with Windows, Linux, iOS or Android
  • Knowledge of any other programming or scripting languages
  • Relevant work experience/placement year
  • A working knowledge of electronics and interfacing microcontroller with various sensors and actuators
  • Background working with system modelling using UML/SysML, OO design techniques/digital signal processing or computer vision
Software Engineers are entitled to 25 days annual holiday, a bonus scheme, flexible working hours, free lunches, private medical insurance, a pension scheme and free a life assurance plan
