- Junior Electronics Compliance Engineer
The Electronics Compliance Engineer will join an electronics R&D team ensuring all designs meet technical and legal requirements. Your typical week will involve developing test plans, taking part in electronic and mechanical design reviews, performing environmental & stress testing (thermal analysis, EMC, safety, vibration etc), documentation & technical reports.
The role comes with lots of responsibility and requires strong interpersonal skills. If a design doesn’t meet requirements you will be expected to go back to the designers and work closely with them to rectify any issues in order to meet technical and legal requirements.
Some other responsibilities as an Electronics Compliance Engineer will include…
- Product safety and risk analysis.
- Continuous improvement in the compliance methods and strategy.
- Participating in electronic and mechanical design reviews.
- Identifying potential risks and providing design solutions and improvements.
- Testing products to ensure we meet CE and UL certification.
Some of the following skills will be particularly useful…
- Awareness of relevant standards/directives FCC, CE, UL and CB reports.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements.
- Working knowledge of EMC or RF Testing.
- Ability to diagnose electronic circuitry and perform PCB rework.
- Understanding of mechanical drawings and good practical assembly skills.
- Knowledge of Environmental testing including vibration, shock, temperature and humidity.
- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyser and audio measurement techniques would be desirable.
- Some programming and audio knowledge would be beneficial.
- Experience with EMC design and power electronics would be favourable.
- A Full UK Driving licence.
