Description
Optics Process Engineer

Recent graduates will be considered if they have an optics background with a desire to move into manufacturing.

This is a unique mix for a candidate with a strong Optics understanding to help shape production and manufacturing methods within a hi-tech organisation who work on the design and manufacture of lasers. The position will focus on Fibre optics technology where you will develop a strong link with R&D and production working on identifying and reporting on corrective actions to ensure that root causes are identified and resolved. Other key areas of responsibility will be:

-          Supporting the development and transfer of new products from development to manufacture.


-          Work closely with design and development at concept stage of any new components or products to ensure design for manufacture principles are inherent in the NPI process.


-          Play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement in fibre optics manufacturing production.


-          Analyse and recommend solutions to optimise fibre optics processes.


-          Project manage and champion manufacturing engineering and R&D projects as required.

For this role you will need:


-           Some experience of working with optics technology, fibre optics, lasers or photonics.


-          This could be a new graduate who is keen to get into an optics Manufacturing role or an experienced manufacturing engineer with a keen interest in optics.
