- New Product Development Manager
Working as the New Product Development (NPD) Manager you will get the chance to lead development projects working for a company who have hugely ambitious growth plans for 2018. Progression and drive play a key part in the organisations DNA and this role has been created as a result of internal promotion and the new incumbent will need to have a proven track record of delivering successful hi-tech products to market, with the ambition to make a real difference to future products. You will also take responsibility for managing a small team of engineers to help drive projects forward. Other responsibilities will include:
- Working with internal teams to develop strategy ideas for new products.
- Play a vital role in creating and implementing a formal new product development system.
- Lead multiple product development projects in line with new product development systems.
- Forge a key link with R&D to understand emerging technologies within the industry.
- Lead project stage gate reviews and then present these to senior management.
- Work in partnership with internal marketing and sales teams on promotional materials related to products.
- Work with the Engineering manager and quality and manufacturing teams to ensure the smooth introduction of new products and sub systems into production.
- Identify possible solutions to future project blockers.
For this role you will need:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Significant experience of delivering successful products to market within a hi-tech engineering environment.
- A strong project background with an understanding of stage gate product development methodology.
- The ability to work closely with mechanical, electronics, and software teams to deliver products to meet customer requirements.
- Good knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- A proven leader with an enthusiastic and motivated approach to management with a passion and drive for delivering complex new product development projects.
