- Optical Design Engineer
Southampton
In this role as a Senior Optical Design Engineer you will get the opportunity to shape the future development of complex next generation optics products which are used in a multitude of different fields. The role will focus on the design and development of products through the full product development lifecycle at a time when the company are introducing several key new products at pace. Other responsibilities will include:
- Design and specification of high power optical components from concept to launch.
- Design and implementation of optical test equipment and procedures.
- Working with customers and suppliers on design changes and improvements.
- Liaising with mechanical design and internal R&D teams to develop innovative opto-mechanical systems.
- Work with NPI and manufacturing teams on site to help deliver new products on time.
For this role you will need:
- A degree in Physics or a related discipline with industry experience of working on the design of optical products at component or system level.
- A practical hands on approach to product development.
- Experience of working with Zemax optical design software.
