Description
Technical Advisor (Physics)

£24-30k (dependent on experience)

A Technical Advisor is needed for a leading company that creates next generation telecoms components which are used globally by both telecoms companies and laboratories. This role is ideal for someone who loves physics as the work they’ll be contributing to puts the company at the forefront of their research community.

This position does not require any previous commercial experience- if you have a 2:1 or above in Physics at either BSc and/or MSc level and are a confident communicator then do not hesitate in applying!

Using knowledge picked up from university, Technical Advisors will be working with company’s tools taking on tasks such as designing optical switches, filters, directional couplers, lasers and devising test routines for new algorithms in order to solve customer problems.

Working closely in a team of 4 Technical Advisor’s main tasks include:
  • Using simulation tools to solve customer’s design problems
  • Providing technical support and feedback
  • Devising and implementing test computations.
Technical advisors will also have the opportunity to complete secondary work in other areas such as software development, IT management and technical pre-sales so the nature of the role will allow candidates to be versatile with both their work and their skills.

Technical Advisor requirements:
  • Grade 2:1 or above in Physics (BSc or MSc)
  • Good communicator having both excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Cooperative nature
Beneficial:
  • Previous experience in a similar Technical Advisor/Support role
