- Head of Operations
This role will offer a mix of long term strategic leadership with day to day management of all manufacturing and operations aspects, taking a lead role in all Lean training and development initiatives. The company design and manufacture hi-tech scientific products which are used in a multitude of different industries across the world. The market is buoyant and the technology on offer is constantly evolving with key new products being introduced at pace.
Reporting into the COO you will take ownership of a major product range working at a state of the art facility with the occasional need to travel to another manufacturing site located in the UK. Some of the key day to day responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for strategic direction and support for the operations team including production, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, order processing and logistics.
- Driving forward lean manufacturing techniques across the site.
- Evaluating and improving processes to deliver improvements in productivity, production yield and scrap costs.
- Play a key role in achieving business targets as defined on an annual and quarterly basis with a focus on production capability.
- Making sure that NPI developments are in line with the requirements of the business.
- Take responsibility for the Health and safety and provision of facilities and capabilities to all departments.
For this role we are looking for:
- A proven Operations Manager with a strong background of driving improvements within a hi-tech production environment.
- The ability to provide strong leadership and guidance in planning and executing programs to drive success.
- The ability to work with a fast paced dynamic product where manufacturing requirements and set ups can change quickly.
- A proven background of driving lean manufacturing techniques and behaviour.
