- Mechanical Design Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a world leader in the precision instrumentation field. You will proactively work to deliver innovative designs, ensuring they meet quality standards, cost and time restraints. Day to day responsibilities will include;
- Create and update both new and existing engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Contribute to new product design by investigating and implementing new design techniques and associated manufacturing processes.
- Work with suppliers to ensure designs are optimized according to the materials.
- Carry out risk assessments.
- Producing appropriate technical documentation.
- Participate and implement continuous improvement activities.
Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements
- Educated to degree level in Mechanical Design.
- Experience designing for low or medium volume production.
- Experience with sheet metal is essential.
- Formal design change management knowledge.
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor is desirable.
- Experience working on NPI projects.
