- Description
- We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join a team of 6 DevOps Engineers who combine software and systems engineering to maintain high performance and reliability for an in house compute farm of over 5000 CPUs. The compute farm is used by multiple teams of Software Engineers to run complex operations in parallel and is critical to the companies productivity. The team work to develop Python based services to enable the efficient use and monitoring of the system.
This Python Developer position is very varied, they automate as much as possible and you will never do the same thing twice. The team are critical to the company’s success which brings some pressure but despite this, they are very relaxed and have a positive and innovative working environment. It’s possible your current position is DevOps engineer including Python development.
Python Developer essential skills:
- Proven Python software development
- Linux
- Automation of repetitive problems
- Expertise in distributed systems
- Cloud computing platforms AWS/GCP/Azure
- DevOps
- High performance/grid computing UGE/SGE/LSF
- Test driven development
- Python test frameworks (ideally py.test)
- Web skills Django, Flask, JavaScript, Jquery, AJAX
- Any of Docker, Jenkins, Perforce, RESTful APIs, MySQL, Kubernetes
Position: Python Developer
Location: Hertfordshire 20 min commute from Euston (central London)
Salary: £40-55k
