- Thriving research and development company are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer who has expertise in using software to deploy infrastructure. You will work on a brand new project from scratch and have the opportunity to choose the best tools and technology for the job.
The DevOps Engineer role is part of a fast moving software team focused on developing unique applications using distributed systems. The team will take on challenging problems involving large datasets and complex interactions on the cloud. You will be working to accelerate development of those projects by building a solid foundation of infrastructure appropriate to progressive stages of scale.
DevOps Engineer essential skills
- Advanced Linux skills
- Building out scalable and automated Cloud platforms
- Infrastructure as code (IaC), ideally Terraform
- Infrastructure automation and configuration management
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Systems administration of DNS, network topology, routers etc.
- Ubuntu
- AWS or GCP
- Ansible, Chef, Docker, Vagrant
- CircleCI, Travis, Jenkins
- Python, Go and/or similar
- Multi-region cloud deployment
- Open source server software (such as NGINX, Elasticsearch)
- Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/Firewalls
- REST APIs, web security mechanisms
- Architectural concepts such as microservices, service mesh, lambda programming
- IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management
