This unique role requires an entrepreneurial customer focussed mindset combined with the ability to recognise and develop strategic customer opportunities, and then instil these fundamentals into a cross functional team of engineers. This role is a fresh approach to project management for a company who have a world leading reputation for designing and manufacturing low volume complex machinery used by a multitude of customers across the world.
If you are bored in your current role or not being challenged, then this will give you the chance to create and shape a new way of thinking for an organisation who embrace change and will support you to implement long term systems and approaches which will be used for all future projects.
You will need to have the ability to think like a customer, understand technical requirements and then work closely with internal teams to turn these ideas into reality. As well as manging a range of large projects you will also manage a team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and a mix of Project Engineers and Project Managers.
Although you will not be actively involved in the hands-on design side of things, you will need the technical ability to be able to understand complex design problems. You will then work with your team to constantly deliver an outstanding service and product to sometimes demanding customers.
The fundamentals of project management are required for the role, but the ideal candidate for this position will get their buzz from identifying potentially lucrative customer relationships and turning these into major accounts. Potentially battling with complex engineering and customer problems along the way you will need to have the confidence and commercial awareness to overcome these objections and turn them into positives.

- Cross functional technical engineering design knowledge with experience of leading and mentoring teams of design and project engineers within a hi-tech environment.
