- Supplier Quality Engineer
Working for an expanding hi-tech engineering organisation this role will play an important link between suppliers of new and existing products making sure that defect free parts are supplied to manufacturing. Liaising closely with the NPD team you will work on supplier development and improvement activities to help make sure that there is a seamless introduction of fault free new products to manufacturing.
Taking ownership of the performance of a portfolio of suppliers you will need to have a desire to constantly improve business processes managing the relationships of key internal stakeholders and resolving any major quality concerns.
The role will require occasional domestic travel to meet with UK suppliers typically once or twice a month. The position will be working extremely closely with internal teams within manufacturing and purchasing and will be an important part of the new product development process for a company who have some ambitious growth plans for 2019.
The product range is low volume high value capital equipment which is used by customers across the world. They have carved out a reputation as being the most trusted and innovative company within their sector which has resulted in them now being the world leaders within their field.
For this role we are looking for:
- A strong background of working as a supplier quality engineer within a hi-tech engineering organisation.
- Knowledge of quality system methodologies eg: 8D, Lean, 5 why’s, Pareto analysis, Six Sigma etc.
- A background of developing relationships with external suppliers and working closely with internal purchasing and manufacturing teams.
