Senior Mechanical Engineer
Central London
This creative role will focus on the design of new technology for an expanding hi-tech engineering organisation based in Central London. The company will have a “start-up” feel initially with major growth plans in place with the backing of a global business who have offices in the US and manufacturing partners across the world.
The technology is complex and can be used by a range of customers in a diverse range of environments so you will need to gain an understanding of strategic technological needs and provide input to the ongoing NPD strategy.
Some of the technical aspects of the role will include:
Performing structural and thermal analysis.
Using Creo on 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
Liaising with suppliers and material vendors.
Working closely with software and electronics teams and external manufacturing suppliers.
Working on manufacturing feasibility design for various processes including- injection moulding, casting, extrusion, fabrication, machining etc.
The offices are currently based in Central London, but they will be moving in the near future to accommodate their plans for growth, this will still be within a similar area of London.
This role will work closely with the US office and will provide a great chance for career progression and development as the European office has some ambitious growth plans over the next few years.
For this role we are looking for:
A degree in Mechanical engineering with at least 2 years proven industry experience working with a hi-tech engineering company.
Strong 3D CAD skills.
An understanding of new product development and the creation of new products.
An appreciation of electronics.
