- NPI Project Manager
London
This role will play a pivotal part in the growth of an expanding division of a global hi-tech engineering organisation based out of the expanding London office. As Project Manager you will take ownership of the full life cycle from concept to delivery working on cross functional engineering projects with a diverse mix of customers.
The London office is newly established and will have a “start-up” feel initially with the backing of a global business who have offices in the US and manufacturing facilities across the world. The UK division will focus on design and development with some ambitious growth plans in place working within a market with huge development potential. You will be the first Project Manager in this office which will mean that this could potentially lead into a more senior position in the future as the company will be adding to their project management team.
Some of the days to day responsibilities for the role will include:
Manage project budgets and costs vs targets.
Working closely with internal teams of engineers and external manufacturers.
Define project governance and manage the process and documentation.
Lead weekly project meetings and manage the overall budget and financial reports for a range of projects.
Matrix manage the project team which will include mechanical, electronic, electrical and software, manufacturing quality, finance, marketing and product management.
Support and contribute towards the continuous development of the NPD process.
The offices are currently based in Central London, but they will be moving in the near future to accommodate their plans for growth, this will still be within a similar area of London. This role will require some travel within the UK and overseas typically between 10-20%.
For this role we are looking for:
A strong project management background with experience of developing products with mechanical; electronics and software content.
Ideally a degree in an engineering discipline.
A strong background in best practice project management methodologies and techniques eg Prince 2 or APM.
