- We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Chief Engineer to lead a cross functional team of talented hardware, firmware and software engineers within an expanding communications organisation as they increase their presence.
Your role will incorporate responsibilities at both the strategic and tactical level. This will include road mapping a plan for business development and upcoming projects in line with the company’s future vision and goals as well as managing and sustaining projects to time scale and budget. You will represent the engineering function within the business unit, and the role will have a strong customer facing element. Therefore, confident communication skills are vital as you will also work with clients, suppliers and other external bodies.
As a Chief Engineer you will be responsible for providing performance management, supporting the team both technically and personally, motivating the team and creating a strong workforce. Therefore, you will need excellent leadership experience, as well as a strong technical hands on background in order for you to understand of the company’s products and processes at the design level.
Requirements of the Chief Engineer
Essential:
- Significant experience of leadership and management across multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong technical background (hardware/software/firmware)
- Experience delivering large scale projects to time and budget
