Working for an expanding hi-tech engineering organisation this position will play a vital role in ensuring supply chain is optimised to support some ambitious growth plans. The product range is low volume automated machinery so from a procurement point of view you will take responsibility for sourcing relevant suppliers using the latest manufacturing technologies on a global scale.
We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with mechanical products and components to take ownership of this area and help to build long term strategic partnerships.
Other day to day responsibilities will include:
Taking ownership of the supplier management cycle and proposing cost analysis and models to support strategic procurement objectives.
Working with global supply chain team members to develop negotiation strategies and deliver material cost savings.
Drive forward cross functional team members to work on margin improvement activities.
Provide guidance to engineering teams before design engineering decisions are made.
Take a proactive approach in identifying opportunities for value enhancement to deliver maximum product availability and cost efficiency.
For this role we are looking for:
Proven experience of purchasing and sourcing experience working in a hi-tech engineering environment.
A strong understanding of mechanical and fabricated components would be highly desirable.
An understanding of design for manufacture.
