Frustrated by red- tape and having to jump through hoops to make any long-term changes? In this role you will work in a small team and will be given the freedom to make key strategic procurement decisions on a global scale.
The company have won the Queens award for Enterprise and continue to invest in new and emerging technology which has resulted in them becoming the world leader in their niche engineering field. As a result of this they are in the process of moving into a brand-new state of the art purpose-built engineering facility.
This role will take ownership of the mechanical commodity group procurement helping to improve and establish supplier relationships with a huge mix of UK and international partners.
The most important part of the role is the ability to work at a strategic level so not just evaluating suppliers but being able to understand all aspects of the procurement cycle including price negotiation, material cost analysis, and the constant evaluation and optimisation of supply partners.
Although the role has no direct reports there is good potential to move into more senior roles in the future. The company have a great reputation for developing and promoting staff internally.
For the role we are looking for a background of working in a strategic purchasing role within a hi-tech engineering environment. Ideally with an appreciation of mechanical parts and commodities. Any experience of using SAP or other ERP systems would also be desirable.
