Description
Due to the nature of the work the company do, candidates must be British or from the EU, and have been in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

We are looking for Hardware Design Engineers from Senior to Lead level to design next generation embedded systems utilising the latest Xilinx FPGA devices and Intel processors for applications in computing, graphics, video technology and network communications. The Hardware Design Engineer will join a strong design team of 20 who thrive on solving complex problems and providing optimal solutions for harsh environments and extreme temperatures.

You will be proactive and very hands on, working across the full product lifecycle designing, implementing, and testing embedded electronic products for the military and aerospace market. Suitable Hardware Design Engineers will have skills in component selection and schematic capture, analogue and digital board level design as well as programmable logic design such as FPGA/SoC development using VHDL. You will take technical and project leadership of new projects from inception to production release, incorporating team leading.

Experience with embedded systems and computer architecture is key and you will need to be a self-starter, ready to throw yourself into a very hands on role and work on a variety of projects. Experience of designing for safety critical applications such as harsh environment and extreme temperatures would be beneficial.

Requirements of the Hardware Design Engineer

Essential:
  • Embedded electronics design
  • Knowledge of computer architectures
  • Degree in electronic engineering or similar
  •  
Desirable:
  • Experience of working across the full product lifecycle in engineering environment
  • Safety critical design experience
