Taking ownership of everything Quality Engineering related this role will be pivotal in instilling leadership and strategy across a hugely ambitious and forward-thinking business. We are looking for the type of leader who wants to make a real difference by inspiring talented teams of engineers, with the inner drive to innovate and steer the future direction of the business.
An important part of the role will be building a new QMS system from scratch and then implementing this across the business.
Although the company have a global reach you will join a UK operation where you will get the freedom to make changes whilst instilling clear guidance and processes to your team. You will play a vital part in a new product launch which will transform the company from an equipment manufacturer to a “solutions provider”. When they achieve this, they will be years ahead of any competitors on the market with an approach which is set to revolutionise the industry.
Because of these big changes and clear vision, it is important that they are attracting leaders who share this ambition and are looking to constantly evolve with innovative thinking to stay ahead of the game. This will involve embracing industry 4.0, picking up trends and acting on these in a fast and efficient manner to enable their customers to ultimately save time and money.
From a Quality Management perspective, you will take ownership of Quality control, Quality Assurance and Regulatory and H&S across the business.
Reporting directly into the president of the group you will get clear guidance and an open-door policy, but you will not be micromanaged. Expectations however will be high, and you will be expected to deliver and instil passion for the development of your department ideally with a strategic vision to then progress potentially into an even more senior role.
Some of the key criteria we are looking for will be:
A proven background in Quality Management working within a regulated technical field. Ideally aerospace, medical or automotive but this could be flexible for the right candidate.
ISO9001 and 14001 experience ideally at Lead auditor level.
A degree or formal engineering qualification.
The ability to implement a QMS system from scratch.
