- Lead Electronics Test Engineer
Working with highly innovative electronic tracking products this role will oversee all electronic testing for new and existing technology. You will manage all testing of products working closely with the R&D and design team ensuring that products are being manufactured efficiently and cost effectively.
The product is being used globally and has a diverse range of applications using tracking technology to monitor people and patients across the world. The business is well established with a healthy order book and plans to expand the team in the UK and globally. With this role you will get the chance to own the testing process within the company by putting in place testing protocols which will be used for years to come.
Some of the day to day responsibilities will include:
- New Product introduction- working with the production teams to produce test plans for new products.
- Working closely with 3rd party suppliers in the UK to design test software for new products and work on the design of test jigs.
- Review current testing processes and then implement improvements for the future. Providing feedback to the R&D team on where improvements can be made.
- Work with the R&D team closely on PCB design issues and hardware design and performance testing.
- Working on the design of hardware modifications leading to improvements on the product range.
The position would have 1 direct report so would be a good fit for a manager or supervisor or someone who wants to get into a leadership role. However, we would also consider candidates without managerial experience.
For this role we are looking for…
- Ideally a degree or formal qualification in electronic engineering.
- LABVIEW experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience of working with design teams to implement products into a high-volume environment.
- Experience of assembly and manufacturing of electronic products.
