Description
Product Development Director- Optics

Can be based in either Northamptonshire or Devon.
Full relocation assistance can be provided

Taking ownership of next generation telecommunication products, you will provide technical leadership whilst managing program execution from concept to release on bleeding edge technology. This cross functional role will work with a wide portfolio of clients from across the globe focussing on telecoms and optical networking technology.

Combining a deep technical knowledge with leadership skills you will help to inspire a multi-functional product development team in all aspects of design and development. This role plays a vital link with program management defining development plans, resources, schedules and budgets to make critical business decisions. 

The company are ahead of anyone within the UK within their niche field and continue to push the boundaries of what is possible within high speed transceiver products 

This position will liaise heavily with external suppliers and customers so you will be expected to travel domestically and internationally from time to time. Typically, between 10-20%.

Taking charge of a small but expanding team you will oversee a range of areas which would be made up of: Rf design engineers, electronics design, thermal design, PCB layout, firmware and test and verification engineers. 

For this role we are looking for:

A degree in Electronics/Optics/Physics

A proven background of managing product development teams.

A strong background of working with optics technology.
