This role will create and define manufacturing process from scratch on new products for a hugely ambitious start up in Oxford. The company are well funded with a great core of scientists, but they need a manufacturing engineer to help turn these ideas into reality!
With new products set to be released next year the company have a plan to grow from 15 to 200 over the next 5 years working with cutting edge electro-mechanical instrumentation products. These products can be used in a diverse range of applications and will have a positive impact on society as a whole.
You will need to have a great grasp of the fundamentals of manufacturing with a hands-on approach to development. This is a great role for someone who really wants to make a difference and not just be a small cog in a big machine. Working from a standing start you will take the lead in creating and validating manufacturing and test processes and guiding teams of cross functional scientists and engineers.
Some of the first things you will look at will be defining the NPI process, implementing lean manufacturing techniques and working on tool design and fabrication methods. You will join at a great time in the journey of the business and therefore will have loads of future opportunities to grow within the business and take on more responsibility.
For this role we are looking for:
Manufacturing Engineering experience with a background of working with complex electro-mechanical or instrumentation products.
A great grasp of the fundamentals with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
Ideally a HNC or degree in a Manufacturing or production related field.
Any optics experience would be desirable.
