- Ideal opportunity for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who doesn’t want to be stuck behind a screen all day. Would you relish the opportunity to get involved in the more commercial aspects of business as well as hands on technical work? This embedded software engineer role suits ambitious applicants as it paves the way to a career plan with 3 distinct promotion opportunities: Senior Consultant, Team Leader, Business Manager.
In addition to hands-on embedded software development, you will also accompany a business development colleague as the technical expert on client visits, gathering requirements, defining scope of the project and promoting the company’s abilities. You will then help to produce a bid proposal, carry out the development work and Project Manage within a multi-disciplinary team.
To summarise, this role involves elements of business development, project management, proposals, travel and hands on embedded software development (75-85%).
The company is a large consultancy designing bespoke systems across a wide range of industrial sectors.
Embedded Software Engineer Requirements:
- Due to the highly complex nature of the work the company are looking for an outstanding academic background which will include a degree and mostly A and B grade A levels.
- Some projects are for defence organisations so applicants must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
- Real Time embedded C or C++
- Technical leadership on projects
- Business acumen, able to interpret clients' technical needs

- Industry Software safety standards, methodologies and application

- Modelling and simulation tools, e.g. MATLAB/Simulink
