Description

This is a highly technical role supporting complex, Linux based applications in cyber intelligence.  As well as troubleshooting and researching customer issues, you will also work closely with R&D providing technical input to new features, as well as planning and assisting with the rollout of new systems and upgrades.

 

Customer tickets will often involve detailed technical investigations, usually requiring analysing their data or producing scripts to obtain that data. Although not essential, it would be helpful if you are able to look at code to understand what is happening at a deeper level.

 

This is an ideal role for a Linux Support Engineer or Linux administrator who would like to gain valuable industry experience in the cyber intelligence space. 

 

The company have fully embraced working from home and only require support engineers to be onsite 1 or 2 days per week (more if preferred). 

 

An interest in communications, security, encryption, mobile networks, cloud based systems or mass data processing will be a major benefit.

Linux Support Engineer essential requirements 

  • Strong Linux knowledge, command line etc
  • Ability to converse with customers
  • Eligible for security clearance (British resident)
 

Linux Support Engineer desirable skills 

  • Linux scripting
  • Python, Java, JavaScript, C++
  • Networking, TCP/IP, encryption, packet inspection
  • Tools like Jira, Confluence, Gitlab, Bitbucket
