Description
Graduate/Junior Optical Physicist

This unique role gives you the chance to work under the guidance of an industry-leading physicist at a company that has been driving innovation in its field for over 100 years.

Working within R&D, you'll be involved in the testing and qualification of optical systems, based at a facility where all design and manufacturing is done on-site. Combining optical physics principles with practical, hands-on skills, this diverse role offers the opportunity to build a long-term career within a stable and innovative organisation.

You will learn directly from a highly knowledgeable physicist and gain first-hand exposure to actual products—rather than just focusing on research.

The main area of work to start with will focus on understanding the product range by testing, analysis and reporting on new opto-mechanical product development.

For this role, we're looking for:

  • A degree, MSc or PhD focused on Optical Physics
  • Good lab-based knowledge and a practical, hands-on approach to product development
  • Experience with computer-based data collection methods would be desirable (e.g. MATLAB, Visual Studio, or Python)
