Description
Graduate/Junior Propulsion Engineer
Norfolk, commutable from Norwich

If you’ve ever wanted to be right at the heart of rocket propulsion, this is your chance. You’ll be joining a fast-growing engineering team that’s tackling projects few others in Europe are working on, with real scope to make your mark.

In this role, you’ll be getting hands-on with solid rocket motor ballistics. One day you might be designing the propellant grain geometry to deliver precise thrust curves, the next you’ll be running advanced simulations to predict motor performance. And when it’s time to put theory into practice, you’ll be involved in hot-fire testing analysing the results, refining designs, and seeing your work come to life.

It’s a highly collaborative environment. You’ll be working closely with specialists in materials, structures, and manufacturing, so communication and teamwork are just as important as your technical know-how. You’ll also be supported by experienced propulsion engineers who’ll help you develop your skills further in ballistics and grain geometry design.

What you’ll need:

  • A degree in aerospace, mechanical, or a related field (postgraduate preferred but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid dynamics
  • Proficiency with tools such as MATLAB, Python, C++, CFD or FEA
  • SolidWorks experience
  • Practical, hands-on experience with testing or lab work
  • A genuine interest in rocket propulsion and solving complex engineering problems

In return, you’ll get a competitive salary, strong benefits including pension and healthcare, and equity options.
