- Description
- General Manager – Engineering/Operations
You’ve led teams before. You’ve faced the challenges of driving performance, shaping culture, and turning vision into results and you’re ready for something bigger.
This is your chance to take the reins of a specialist engineering and manufacturing business that’s part of a wider group, giving you both the autonomy to make an immediate impact and the backing to grow into something much greater.
You’ll lead a talented and diverse team across operations, projects, quality, and engineering uniting them behind a shared goal: to deliver reliable, high-performance technology that operates in some of the world’s toughest environments.
There’s no red tape here. Decisions are made quickly, ideas are encouraged, and the leadership team will look to you to shape the future of the site and its people. You’ll have full ownership of performance, strategy, and culture with the freedom to do things the right way.
As the business continues its impressive growth, you’ll have the opportunity to explore new markets, expand internationally (including the potential to open a US office), and develop your own career into more senior group roles as the company continues to scale.
You’ll be the kind of leader who inspires confidence through empathy and action. Someone who can relate to people at every level, challenge and support in equal measure, and empower those around you to deliver their best work.
If you’re commercially astute, technically grounded, and thrive in an environment where you can truly make your mark, this is where you’ll do your best work.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering or manufacturing teams
- Strong commercial and financial understanding (P&L ownership a plus)
- A hands-on, people-first leadership style
- Strategic thinking and the ability to execute plans effectively
What you need to have:
- An engineering degree or qualification.
- A strong background of working with technical cross functional engineering products- eg products that use electronics, software and mechanical engineering.
- A strong background in manufacturing and operations.
What’s on offer:
- Competitive salary and car allowance
- Bonus scheme
- Excellent pension and healthcare benefits
- 26 days’ holiday (rising with service)
- Employee share scheme and wellbeing benefits
This is a site based role where you will need to be in the office every day for the first 3-6 months. After this hybrid options could be discussed.
