- Description
- This role places you right at the very beginning of an exciting engineering journey within one of Europe’s fastest-growing aerospace start-ups. You’ll be joining at a pivotal moment as the company accelerates into its next phase of development, working on bleeding-edge propulsion technology and helping shape a micro-turbojet engine from the ground up.
You’ll take ownership of the aerothermal design and optimisation of the primary gas path within a micro-turbojet engine, covering everything from compressor impeller and vaned diffuser design to axial turbine aerodynamics, combustor flow assessments, annulus profiling and CFD-led optimisation.
This environment is ideal for an engineer with essential experience in turbomachinery, strong foundations in aerothermal theory, and hands-on capability with tools such as ANSYS CFX, GasTurb and advanced blade-design workflows. Beyond technical expertise, the team is looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm for turbomachinery, engine performance modelling, fluid dynamics, and contributing meaningfully to new technology at its earliest stage.
You’ll be encouraged to think creatively, explore concepts deeply, and engage across disciplines - from subsystem optimisation through off-design performance analysis to supporting thermal and structural specialists. This is a rare chance to influence major design decisions, work closely with hardware, and contribute to a project that will progress rapidly into real-world testing.
If you’re motivated by solving complex engineering challenges, excited by high-growth environments, and eager to work on cutting-edge propulsion technology, this role offers an exceptional platform to do the most impactful work of your career.
This role is looking for:- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
- Essential experience in Turbomachinery design
- Experience using ANSYS CFX
