- Description
- This transformational role will play a key part in the turbomachinery team, working on a micro gas turbine at one of Europe’s most exciting engineering startups. The company is redefining what’s possible in compact turbojet propulsion, developing technology with real-world aerospace and defence applications.
You will be based at a state-of-the-art facility with excellent resources and clear opportunities to develop your skills and advance your career. This role is open to all experience levels, with job titles tailored to reflect your expertise. With a separate manufacturing facility in the area, you’ll have the unique opportunity to see products progress from concept through to delivery, gaining hands-on insight into the full lifecycle of cutting-edge aerospace technology.
This is a unique opportunity to work on technology that hasn’t been done before and to see your work progress rapidly from concept to real-world testing. You’ll be part of a standout project in the industry, with the chance to influence key technologies and shape the future of aerospace propulsion.
You’ll be responsible for the mechanical design of the engine fuel system, developing critical hardware that directly impacts engine performance, reliability, and safety. Working closely with turbomachinery specialists, electronics engineers, and external suppliers, you’ll design and develop fuel pumps, injectors, manifolds, and associated mechanical systems, taking designs from concept through analysis, testing, and manufacture.
This role suits someone who thrives on precision engineering, tight tolerances, and complex mechanical systems, and who enjoys the fast-paced, high-impact environment of a startup where you can see the tangible impact of your work.
Main requirements:- Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Strong mechanical design fundamentals and experience with production-ready engineering drawings (GD&T)
- Confidence using CAD tools (Siemens NX preferred) and exposure to precision components such as pumps, injectors, valves, or fluid systems
- Experience working with precision component design
