- Description
- You will take ownership of an entire production line and play a crucial role in ensuring products are delivered on time. This is a highly visible position within the factory, where you will be the key person keeping operations running smoothly, solving problems on the shop floor, and driving improvements in a busy, high-pressure production environment.
Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Working within a state-of-the-art facility, you will support the manufacture of advanced technology products from concept through to delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on in production while also driving improvements to processes and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong background in Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving methodologies. You will have proven hands-on experience in product manufacturing environments, taking products through manufacturing processes and supporting production operations on the shop floor.
You will split your time between the production environment and supporting activities outside of the cleanroom, working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure processes run smoothly, equipment issues are resolved efficiently, and production targets are met. The role will involve repairing and supporting manufacturing equipment, updating and improving technical documentation, and implementing Lean Manufacturing practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
A key part of the role will involve developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, process flows, and manufacturing documentation, while working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products are successfully introduced and manufactured efficiently.
You should be comfortable analysing manufacturing data, improving production processes, and working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Strong communication skills and the ability to take ownership of a production area will be key to success in this role.
