- Description
- Systems Integration Engineer A well-established company behind the lighting control systems in many of the UK's most advanced smart buildings is growing its technical team. Their technology runs in some of the country's most recognisable buildings, connecting thousands of devices and interfacing with BMS platforms, IP networks and a growing range of building control and automation. Integration is one of the key parts of the business - and this is a chance to help shape it.
They're after a Systems Integration Engineer who's genuinely curious about how different building systems work together, and what to do when they don't. It's a hands-on role built around integration, fault finding and diagnostics, across a real variety of interesting projects - and you'll develop deep expertise in smart building technology along the way. Just as importantly, it's a friendly, flexible and supportive team where people enjoy working: they value finding the right person as much as the right CV.
You'll be:
- Integrating lighting control with wider smart building systems (BMS, IP networks and beyond).
- Working with protocols like BACnet, MQTT, DALI and IP networking to get systems talking and publishing data cleanly.
- Diagnosing and resolving comms and integration faults on live projects - including hands-on tracing with an oscilloscope.
- Working with commissioning engineers on setup, testing and root-cause investigations.
What they're after:
- A technical background (electrical/electronic engineering, networks, IT or computer systems). Qualifications welcome but not essential if your hands-on knowledge is strong.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving instincts.
- Some electronics knowledge and a genuine interest in developing it.
- Any exposure to BMS, building controls, integration or networking - even a rough understanding is a great start if you're keen to learn.
