Description
Manufacturing Engineer

There’s a certain kind of manufacturing environment where things don’t stand still for long.

This is one of them.

With around 50 people on site and significant investment already underway, the focus is firmly on growth. New equipment is coming in, processes are being improved, and there’s a steady flow of projects happening at any one time. It’s a busy, fast-moving setting where engineering plays a visible, hands-on role in keeping everything moving forward.

In this role, you’d be part of that momentum. Some days might see you out on the shop floor working through a production issue or supporting a process improvement. On others, you could be involved in planning layouts, updating manufacturing data, or contributing to the rollout of new equipment or product changes. The work is varied, practical, and closely connected to what’s happening day to day on site.

There’s plenty of opportunity to get involved in continuous improvement activity, from small incremental changes through to larger projects and CAPEX-driven upgrades. You’ll be working alongside others who are focused on making things better, with the chance to contribute ideas and take ownership of your own areas.

The wider business has the backing of a larger global group, but the site itself has a more agile feel, decisions can move quickly, and engineers are encouraged to take a proactive approach.

This position would suit someone with a few years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, who understands the fundamentals and is ready to build on them. Someone who’s comfortable being hands-on, enjoys problem-solving, and is keen to develop their experience in a fast-paced setting.

Working a 37.5-hour week (8:45am – 5:00pm Monday to Thursday, with a 3:45pm finish on Fridays).

Key skills and experience:

  • Background in manufacturing or mechanical engineering
  • Experience working in a production or fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of process improvement or continuous improvement approaches
  • Exposure to projects such as equipment installs, upgrades, or CAPEX activity
  • Comfortable working on the shop floor and solving practical issues
  • Experience using CAD (ideally SolidWorks) and ERP systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with different teams
  • Proactive, hands-on approach

Please note: sponsorship is not available for this position.
