- Description
- This role will serve as the key point of contact between design, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring effective communication, problem resolution, and alignment across the business. You will support electronic manufacturing challenges while influencing New Product Introduction (NPI) from concept through to production.
Based in a modern North London facility, the company offers an excellent working environment and strong infrastructure for developing advanced, cross-functional technologies. Due to continued growth and increasing project activity, they are looking to appoint a Production Engineer to join their established engineering team.
This is a varied, hands-on role within the production environment, supporting electronic products while working closely with design, quality and manufacturing. You will play a key part in ensuring products are built to the correct quality standards, problems are diagnosed effectively, and production processes are continuously improved.
A core part of the role is the ability to fault-find down to component level, identifying electrical and electronic issues and resolving them efficiently. Alongside this, you will be expected to set up and improve production processes, applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to reduce waste, improve process capability, increase efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
On a day-to-day basis, you will support shop floor activities, assist with functional testing and failure analysis, and maintain clear and effective work instructions, operating procedures and test specifications. You will be expected to have experience writing and developing test specifications and be confident translating engineering requirements into clear, practical production and test documentation.
This role suits an engineer looking to develop their career within Production Engineering. We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious, practical, and keen to learn, develop their engineering skills, and take increasing responsibility for manufacturing processes, quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electronic, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering
- A strong background in electronics, ideally within a high-tech or electronics manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience fault-finding to component level within electronic systems
- Experience writing and developing test specifications, test procedures and production documentation
- An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, with a genuine interest in continuous improvement
- Experience identifying production issues, carrying out root-cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions
- Experience supporting functional testing, failure analysis and product troubleshooting
