Description
Test Development Engineer

As manufacturing systems become more advanced, the software that controls and validates them becomes increasingly important. This opportunity sits within an established engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated automated test systems used to validate highly technical products before they reach customers.

Working as part of a specialist team, you'll be involved in the development of software that controls automated test equipment, interfaces with production systems and helps ensure products meet the highest quality standards. The role combines software engineering with a practical understanding of electronics and control systems, making it ideal for someone who enjoys seeing their code interact with real-world hardware.

Day to day, you could be developing new software functionality, improving existing automated test platforms, troubleshooting system issues or supporting the introduction of new products into manufacturing. You'll work closely with software, electronics and mechanical engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of technologies whilst helping deliver solutions that directly support production and engineering teams.

The team is well established but entering an exciting period of succession planning and growth. With several experienced engineers providing significant technical expertise, there is a clear opportunity for someone to develop into a senior position over time. Longer term, there is also potential to progress into a technical leadership role as the team continues to evolve.

Whilst experience with LabVIEW would be beneficial, the business is open to engineers from a broader software development background. If you've developed software for industrial systems, automation equipment, production machinery, test equipment or similar environments and enjoy solving complex technical problems, you'll find plenty of opportunity to make an impact in this role.

This position would suit someone who enjoys a combination of software development, engineering problem-solving and working closely with physical systems. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help develop the next generation of automated test solutions.
