Due to an exciting phase of expansion we are looking for a Backend Process Engineer to join an innovative scientific organisation, working on next generation OPV technology which is set to be used in a range of different emerging markets. The position will give you the chance to shape current and future production process which will have a real impact on the development of production methods in years to come. This is a great role for an ambitious engineer who is keen to make a real difference in a lab based environment working with a mix of engineers and scientists.
Other day to day responsibilities will include:
- Working on encapsulation, connectorisation, dicing, testing and packaging..
- Define performance and stability measures both in house and out. Including data analysis and reporting.
- Working as the key contact to subcontract companies and supply chain partners that perform steps in the hi-volume manufacturing process.
- Implement process measures to help define future production engineering practices.
- Work closely with other engineers to define how samples can be integrated into final products in a way that enables low cost volume manufacturing.
- Implementing process measures to help define future production engineering practices.
- Identify and engage external service suppliers and contracts, including negotiation and terms of engagement.
- Driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques across the site.
- Working in a lab environment on the processing and testing of complex samples
- Working closely with a range of engineers and scientists to help ramp up production output.
For this role we are looking for:
- A HNC or relevant engineering qualification.
- Experience of working in a hands on process environment ideally with a background in Photovoltaic/OLED Encapsulation, testing and equipment design and specification and/or sheetfed and roll to roll lamination.
- Any exposure to Lean manufacturing techniques would be highly beneficial.
- An engineer who wants to make a difference and work closely with a team of talented people to implement long term improvements within a lab based production environment.
