Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding, multi-national, hi-tech engineering company, specialising in products for the defence and aviation industries. Working on a diverse range of complex electronic products you will take responsibility for providing mechanical design expertise on a range of new and existing projects.

 

 Other responsibilities will include:
  • Providing a technical lead on selected projects.
  • Designing small and medium sized mechanisms and structures.
  • Taking a key position on mechanical engineering principles eg materials selection, assembly.
  • Producing and reviewing Mechanical Designs and Drawings.
 

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:
  • HNC / HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Senior Mechanical design engineer.
  • Have a good appreciation of related engineering disciplines (e.g. electronic engineering, system engineering).
  • Strong 3D CAD modelling skills.
  • HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in designing small and medium sized mechanisms and structures.
  • Any experience of working in the defence industry would be desirable.

Autodesk AutoCAD

Finite Element Analysis Tools

Experience using MATLAB

Experience in the Defence, Navel or Aerospace industry  

 

The Mechanical Engineering department takes responsibilities for designing and maintaining all mechanical aspects of products. This includes management and configuration of the production drawing pack.
