- Description
- Niche role for an electronics engineer with a background in research to create original technology, with a quick route to manufacture. The technology is in between IC and traditional transistor level electronics design.
The Electronics Research Engineer will lead research and development for their area and will be responsible for coming up with new ideas, designing the circuits, making sure they meet specifications, discussing results with colleagues, sending designs offsite for prototype manufacture and then testing. You will join a multi-disciplinary team which includes Physicists, Materials Scientists, Chemists and Electrical Engineers.
The role would suit an experienced Electronics Engineer or someone who has recently left University with an MSc or PhD.
Electronics Research Engineer essential requirements:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related subject
- Transistor level analogue / mixed-signal design
- Flair for creating original small-circuit designs which overcome significant challenges
- Design tools for analogue design.
- Cadence design tools
- Transistor-level circuit design for displays
- High-level modelling of analogue / mixed signal circuits (e.g. Verilog-A)
- Physics of semiconductor devices
