- Sales Engineer – Life Science
We are looking for an individual with a degree in life sciences or a related subject that either has experience in sales (possibly internal sales looking to move into a field sales role) or has the aptitude to take their technical knowledge and apply this into a customer facing sales environment.
Practical experience of microscopy applications and techniques would be very beneficial (FRET, TIRF).
Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer….
- Explaining our product brochures and technical information to customers, and providing technical advice where appropriate.
- Providing application support to customers wherever possible.
- Providing both written and verbal quotations to customers and entering into commercial negotiation to secure the business.
- Probing for commercial information from enquires.
- Progressing all sales leads to secure the business, or when necessary to investigate why the business was not successful.
- Providing technical and commercial information to the parent company in Japan, then liaising with our engineers to help answer customer’s queries.
- Attending the regular sales meeting to discuss business.
- Customer training (hardware and software)
- Minimum of Degree in Life Science related subject
- Experience of microscope imaging
- Technical sales experience required
- Strong team spirit
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel
- Full, clean UK driving licence
