- Description
- Well established, profit making start-up founded by a team of highly skilled engineers who have a proven track record with several previous successful technology start-ups, are recruiting a number of Software Engineers at their R&D headquarters in Reading. Current challenges faced by their Software Engineers include the highly distributed nature of the product, issues with massive scalability and the live optimisations the software makes through VM on different processors.
They now seek a number of like-minded, Graduate and experienced software engineers capable of covering the needs of this broad technical role.
It’s likely your experience will include some of: Python, C, C++, Linux, Object Oriented programming, Networking and Protocols, distributed systems, network programming, video or audio streaming, TCP/IP, assembler optimisation, Django, VMware.
A day’s work might vary from suggesting a new feature for the product, designing and implementing it, adding the necessary tests to their continuous integration infrastructure or studying a snapshot from a customer site to diagnose a bug. It’s a small, supportive team and whilst everyone has their specialist areas of knowledge all are keen to help out across the product.
Development follows a fast pace – they redeploy the product within R&D every night for their own use the next day, so they rely on their continuous integration system to keep things on track. You’ll need to be happy to work in an environment where your work will have a large, and immediate, impact on the product.
Software Engineer skills and experience
Do to the highly technical nature of the role candidates must have achieved a 2i or 1st class honours degree from one of the UK’s top universities and mostly A grade A levels.
