Description
Fibre Laser Development Engineer

Southampton

This is a role that will use the fundamentals of Physics combined with a hands on approach to technology development for an expanding division of a leading laser organisation. The position will focus on fibre lasers and components giving you the opportunity to work on the development of industrial lasers working closely with other members of R&D and production.

You will get the chance to experiment and investigate new innovative technologies whilst also working in the lab on developing test methods and prototype work. The role is rare as you will get the chance to learn from some of the laser sectors leading minds whilst also being able to see real life products being designed and manufactured on site.  

For this role we are looking for candidates with:

-          A PhD in Physics or a related field with experience or a strong understanding of lasers. Or a degree in Physics with practical laser industry or research experience.


-          Experience of optical lab work, experimentation and design.


-          Any experience in programming and equipment automation would be desirable.
