- Product Specialist (power generation)
In this varied role you will provide a key link between internal technical teams and customers to help solve a range of different engineering problems. The position will work for an expanding aerospace organisation at their state of the art facility working on multiple projects.
The engineering team is undergoing a major project to improve their Through Life Support function and a new structure has been developed. As a result they are looking to add to the team with multiple Product Experts to be the focal point for different ranges of products.
The 3 main product ranges they are looking for Product specialists for are.
- DC Generator products
- AC Generator products
- Generator Control Units products
The type of person they are looking for is someone with a strong knowledge of power generation, electrical machines and rotating equipment and a good appreciation of managing a product range through the development lifecycle to product release and beyond.
Responsibilities will include:
- Review and approve design activities for the product range.
- No direct reports, but will quality assure or supervise the work of other engineers.
- Be the focal point for queries for the Generator product range to operations and product support.
- To make sure engineering investigation action plans are well structured and managed.
- Make technical decisions & act as prime internal or external interface where needed managing requirements and deliverables.
- Co-ordinate and work with UK and US engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Prior experience in rotating machine / mechanical product design or engineering analysis role.
- Engineering Degree in a relevant subject.
- Prior experience in product design or engineering analysis role.
- Sufficient technical expertise in electrical power systems equipment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing environment – manufacturing methods, process capability , and process control.
