Description

Laser Engineer

This role will give you the chance to join an expanding company who are pushing the boundaries of innovation working on the design and manufacture of high-power fibre lasers. These lasers are being used for a multitude of applications across the world with a product range that is set to increase further as the company gain momentum.

The position will work within a small multidisciplinary team helping to support the design, build and testing of lasers. This therefore requires a practical approach to design and problem solving where you will work with small teams of engineers, scientists and technicians at their production facility in Crawley.

Some of the day to day aspects of the role will include:

-          Providing a link for fibre laser products from R&D into production.

-          Work on key aspects of modelling, design, construction, test and characterisation of high-power lasers.

-          Take ownership of testing and evaluation of key laser components.

-          Work in collaboration with senior optical, mechanical and electronics engineers conducting research into new and emerging laser technology.

-          Develop, review and recommend the specification of parts and systems.

-          Attend conferences and technical shows as and when required.

For this role we are looking for:

-          A strong degree or PhD in Physics ideally with a focus on laser or optics technology.

-          A hands-on background where you are comfortable working on the test and development of lasers as well as the theoretical side of things.

-          A strong understanding of Fibre Laser technology.

-          We will look at a mix of experience levels from fresh graduate to senior engineers.
