To be successful in this role you will need to think like a customer and identify improvements on current and future products with the technical ability to then turn these improvements into reality, working closely with R&D and project teams.
You will be technically driven and will have several examples of new product development projects where you have taken a product from concept to launch, which has made a positive impact on the market.
You will need to gain respect from the team so you are likely to have worked your way up from a technical position probably within Mechanical, Electronics or Software and will then have demonstrated excellent leadership ability within a senior role. The role will report into the MD who will give you the freedom and backing to make significant improvements to a wide range of new technology platforms.
The company design and manufacture a range of technical, low volume, high value capital equipment which are used on a global scale. Innovation is always encouraged so you will need to be able to understand all cross functional technical disciplines and then present solutions at a senior level within the business which will be key to achieving some ambitious growth plans.
From a strategic point of view, you will work on road mapping upcoming projects and business development in line with the company’s future vision and goals, managing and sustaining current and future projects.
For this role we are looking for:
A degree in an engineering or scientific related field.
Extensive product development experience with a strong background of manging cross functional engineering teams across software, hardware and mechanical engineering.
A clear vision of how you expect NPD projects to be run within a hi-tech engineering organisation.
Experience of creating strategic roadmaps.
A proven manager who can drive and inspire a team whilst also playing a key role in strategic decisions within the business.
The company can offer a company car with the role along with some excellent benefits including a bonus incentive.
