- Description
- Ideal job for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong communication skills, business acumen and a willingness to travel. The company is a large consultancy designing bespoke systems across a wide range of industrial sectors.
Around 15-25% of your time will be spent visiting clients to gather requirements, defining scope of the project and promote the company. You will then help to produce a bid proposal to win the work (competing against other consultancies) and then if successful, Project Manage and carry out the development work within a multi-disciplinary team.
To summarise, this role involves elements of business development, Project Management, proposals, travel and hands on embedded software development (75-85%).
Senior Embedded Software Engineer Requirements:
- Due to the highly complex nature of the work the company are looking for an outstanding academic background which will include a degree and mostly A grade A levels.
- Some projects are for defence organisations so applicants must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
- Real Time embedded C or C++
- Technical leadership on projects
- Interpretation of clients' technical needs
- Safety critical software development
- Control system design
- Industry Software safety standards, methodologies and application
- Hardware and software integration
- Control system theory
- Modelling and simulation tools, e.g. MATLAB/Simulink
- Networking
- Serial protocols
- Algorithm development
- Functional safety
- Configuration management
- Project management
- Preparation of bids and proposals
