Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Product Development)


Joining an ambitious team as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be a vital part of the company’s future growth plans and will play a key role in the development of their next generation products. They do all their design and manufacturing on site so you will see the product all the way through the development lifecycle to product launch, they also have a brand new state of the art facility and offer a great benefits package.

We are looking for someone with design and development experience of mechanical and electro-mechanical components, assemblies and systems ideally using SolidWorks with a good appreciation of design for assembly, manufacture and thermal management.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years industry experience in a high-tech field, having an understanding of optics would be beneficial but not essential. A knowledge of precision assemblies and mechanisms is also very beneficial.

Responsibilities for Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

•             Design and development of complex electro-mechanical components.

•             Introduction of products to manufacture.

•             Create detailed design drawings

•             Finite element modelling of thermal performance and fluid dynamics

•             Liaising with suppliers to support product design, specifications and product compliance

•             Work within multidisciplinary NPI teams and Production to deliver new products.

 

For this role you will require:

•             Degree qualified in a relevant subject. (will also consider apprentice trained candidates with  relevant industry experience)

•             Experience with 3d CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)

•             Experience with DFM.

•             Experience in design for thermal management

•             Experience in electro-mechanical design
