- R&D Engineer- An All-Rounder!
Combining Software, electronics, mechanical engineering, physics and manufacturing this role will give you exposure to every aspect of the product development lifecycle. It is an amazing role for a graduate or junior engineer who loves learning about all areas of technology. You will work within a small R&D team on developing next generation products for the medical device sector.
The products are having a huge impact on patients’ lives with huge potential for the technology to be used in a diverse range of applications. Working as part of the R&D team you will work on developing future technology focussed around advanced battery technology, Bluetooth connectivity and user functionality.
Because of the range of technology, the role could be a good fit for a graduate or junior engineer or scientist with a bias in a mix of different technical disciplines. What is important is your ability to learn and explore new areas of technology.
Although we are not looking for a software engineer who is coding all day you will need to have the ability to learn software and program using C for low level coding and python for developing tools. One day you could be writing software and the next you could be in the lab building a prototype so an interest in all areas of engineering is key.
The company are well funded and have an established reputation within their sector with some big ideas for future technology and internal expansion. You will be joining at a fairly early stage of new product development so you will not only get great access for learning and developing your skills but you will also have good opportunities for progression in the future.
To break things down the key areas we are looking for are:
- A degree/MSc or PhD in an engineering or scientific related field.
- An all rounder with a passion for learning about all areas of technology.
- Ideally a background of working on software development.
We will consider fresh university graduates ideally with placement experience or junior engineers with some industry experience. Ideally you would have an interest in medical device technology.
