Working for a hugely ambitious technology start up this role will set up a manufacturing department from scratch whilst building a talented team of engineers capable of taking multiple new products to market. Taking ownership of all manufacturing matters you will also play a key part in the strategic direction of the company helping to implement supply chain and compliance across the business.
With new products set to be released next year the company have a plan to grow from 15 to 200 over the next 5 years working with cutting edge scientific instrumentation products. These products can be used in a diverse range of applications and will have a positive impact on society as a whole.
As with most start ups you will need to roll your sleeves up and wear several different hats combining this with the ability to grow a world class team driving profitability at all levels. You will understand what it takes to run a lean manufacturing facility and will be able to identify potential problems which you inevitably will face as the company grow.
As well as manufacturing you will also manage procurement, quality, shipping, H&S and planning across the business. Working closely with the CEO this role really is a vital part in the future growth ambitions of the business where you will get the freedom to make important operational decisions without much red tape!
For this role we are looking for:
A strong background in Operations Management working with instrumentation products.
A broad understanding of manufacturing and mechanical engineering with the ability to inspire and build a team from scratch.
Ideally degree level qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline.
