Description
Photonic Engineer- PhD or experienced candidates considered.

Most photonics technology tinkers round the edges of design; this role will work on bleeding edge technology from the start! The company focus on revolutionary electro-optic computer technology which is faster and more sustainable than anything else on the market.

You will join as one of the first members of the technical team which will grow to 10 by the end of 2023. This will give you the opportunity to make a significant impact on a hugely ambitious business giving you the chance to progress into senior roles quickly.

Based out of a site in Camberley you will design, simulate, prototype, and develop high performance photonic systems working closely with electronics experts. You will communicate and document prototype results focussing on speed and energy consumption.

Although industry or research experience would be beneficial, we can also consider PhD graduates who have worked with silicon photonic technology.

For this role we are looking for:

A PhD or degree in Physics with a focus on photonics, lasers, or optics technology.

An understanding of design, modelling and characterisation of silicon photonic devices.

A practical approach to development with lab based prototyping and free optics experience.

Salary for the role can be completely dependent on experience with relocation assistance and share options available.
